Safety Equipment

As soon as your child can crawl on their own, it's time to secure the home in areas that could be dangerous for your child. Go through the home room by room and make sure to secure what can reasonably be secured, such as electrical outlets, drawers, doors, and windows. Below you can see Mammashop's selection of products and equipment that can help childproof the home and make it safe for a child with fingers in everything. At the bottom of the page, you can find general advice and guidance on childproofing the home.

Advice and Guidance for Childproofing the Home

Keep small items like LEGO bricks and dice out of reach of the little ones. You can check if various gadgets are too small with the toy tester from the Safety Authority.

If there are stairs, a fireplace, or a balcony in the home, it's a good idea to install a safety gate in front of them.

Make sure your child cannot access soap, shampoo, cosmetics, and various cleaning products.

Put corner protectors on sharp edges like those on radiators, windowsills, tables, and cabinets.

Place hot items like coffee and tea out of reach so your child cannot access them.

Buy a safety gate for the kitchen doorway – it is the most dangerous place for small, curious children! Alternatively, you can invest in childproofing for drawers, cabinets, and ovens.

Always unplug devices from the outlet when not in use, or invest in safety plugs.

Cords for TVs, kettles, and ironing boards should never be left loose or hanging where your child can grab them.

Do not place chairs in front of windows so your child can climb onto the windowsill. You can also buy safety gates or locks for windows and balcony doors – this is especially relevant if you live high up.
