Cutlery and Tableware

When your baby is big enough to eat solid food, it is time to acquire some baby cutlery. Cutlery for babies and children comes in different sizes, so it is a good idea to replace it regularly to ensure it is age-appropriate and suits the child's motor skills and oral development. Some spoons, for example, are specially designed with a small bump on the spoon surface, making it easier for the little one to take a mouthful.

This special type of spoon, however, will not be beneficial when the child gets older, so it is good to replace the cutlery to match their age and development. When looking for baby cutlery, it is also a good idea to pay attention to what material the cutlery is made of.

The baby cutlery that the baby first learns to use is the spoon and fork. Here, for example, it would be a good idea to choose a soft silicone spoon that is not hard and cold against the gums. When the child is to hold the cutlery themselves, it is a good idea to choose something that is ergonomically correct and easy for the small hand to grasp. Additionally, one can also look at how wide the cutlery is, as it is often easier for the child to hold the cutlery if the handle is larger and has a rubber coating.

Baby cutlery is available in all price ranges, so it does not need to be a significant expense.
